'Akasa'

I thought of trying out something different. I've been playing on flora and fauna, shapes and geometrics. I was on my way to Penang when I saw a rainbow in between the hills and jungle. I thought how beautiful it was and sketched this upon arrival.

Here, 'Akasa' is designed as a Kurung Moden. The background color is Sky Blue, mixed with different shades of Blue, Green and Brown.

For this design, it's best on Chiffon Silk as the top and Crepe Silk for the bottom. However, for a Traditional Kurung, Crepe Silk for all is a better option.

'Chess'

The name says it -- Chess; carries a checkered patterns around the body. The patterns stretches to the back. This is one way of doing it. Maybe, the patterns could also go across vertically or horizontally. Or just a bit on the sides. Will try other ways soon.

In the picture above, I've sketched it in Forest Green. But, in the end, the customer changed to Lime Green to match the wedding theme that she's meant to wear it at. So, below is the picture of the finished product.

'Disco'

The Client requested for a piece with no specific type of patterns. But, she is the disco queen in her youth days; the 80's.

So, to match her personality (and to relive her youth), I designed 'Disco' for her. This is designed as a short dress but can be worn over a pants as a tunic.

The colorful circles symbolises the spinning disco lights. Matching colorful lines are drawn to create borders on the bottom and end of sleeves.

Background color is Green, mixed with Royal Blue and Hot Pink. But, in the end, the color is changed to Lime Green instead to match the wedding theme.

Most recommended on Chiffon Silk.

'Boxy'

As per the name, 'Boxy' is.. well, boxy!

Here it is designed to be a modern kurung with Mandarin collar. The background color is Green, mixed with Soft Blue and Soft Pink.

Most recommended on Chiffon Silk as the top and Crepe Silk as the sarong.

'Alaia'

Here, 'Alaia' is designed as a modern kurung with Mandarin collar. The base color is Green, mixed with Lime Green and Soft Pink.

Most recommended on Chiffon Silk for the top and Crepe Silk for the sarong.

'Vertical'

As the name suggests, 'Vertical' is designed with vertical lines. In the pictures above, I've played with different ways of expressing the vertical lines. I won't elaborate on the colors here; the different designs and colors show that it can be tailored to your own preferences.

In top left picture was designed as a tunic and carries curvy lines. The middle picture was designed as a modern kurung. On the right, I've designed the modern kurung to have vertical lines on the 'baju' and checkered patterns on the 'kain'. This is just to create a contrasting but harmony patterns.

Below picture was designed as a tunic, to be worn with pants. The lines are straight, and in
some thick lines there are a few thin lines.

Most recommended on Chiffon Silk for the top and Crepe Silk for the sarong (for modern kurung).

'Otieno'

Top most is 'Otieno' in Black. This is designed as short dress or tunic.

Base color is black. Mixed with Hot Pink, Soft Pink, Grey and Oriental Blue.

Recommended on Crepe Silk.

Below it is 'Otieno' in Green. This one is designed as a long dress or 'jubah'. Base color is Green. Mixed with Fuchsia, Grey and Oriental Blue.

This style is recommended on Crepe Silk.

Below is another style with this design. Similarly, this is 'Otieno' in Green but is applied in a short dress or can be a tunic. Just to show the many ways of having the design that you like, in a style that you prefer.
